• Liver function tests evaluate the health and performance of the liver by measuring enzyme levels, bilirubin, and proteins.
• Normal results indicate intact liver cell function and normal bile flow.
• Elevated ALT and AST suggest hepatocellular injury (e.g., hepatitis, fatty liver, drug-induced).
• Raised ALP and GGT indicate cholestasis or biliary obstruction.
• Increased bilirubin reflects impaired bilirubin metabolism or excretion.
• Low albumin or total protein may suggest chronic liver disease or reduced synthetic function.

Overall results should be correlated clinically and with imaging or viral markers if abnormalities are present.
