Why Is This Test Done?
A higher reticulocytes count observed in bleeding , erythroblastosis fetalis, Hemolytic anemia, Kidney disease with increased erythropoietin production. A lower count of Reticulocyte is observed in cases of Bone marrow failure due to toxicity, tumour, or infection ,Cirrhosis of the liver ,Folate deficiency ,Iron deficiency, kidney disease with decreased erythropoietin production ,Radiation therapy ,Vitamin B-12 deficiency.
