TUBERCULIN TEST ( TT ) (MONTOUX TEST)

The test result should be interpreted with correlation to the clinical history. A smaller size of induration could be significant in high risk group or patients on immunosuppression. Induration of smaller size could also be due to environmental mycobacteria, BCG vaccination etc. False negative tests could be due to variety of conditions such as the anergy, extremes of age, recent or overwhelming Koch's, live viral vaccination, viral infections such as the measles, chicken pox etc.
