What is Thyroid Profile Test?

A thyroid profile test is also sometimes called a thyroid function test. A thyroid profile test is an umbrella term for all the diagnostic tests that medical professionals can perform on a blood sample drawn from a patient who is showing symptoms of an underactive or overactive thyroid gland.
A thyroid profile test can also be used to monitor the overall health of one’s thyroid gland during their yearly health exam. This test is also used by doctors to keep tabs on the overall effectiveness of the treatment that they have administered to a patient diagnosed with thyroid disease.
A typical thyroid profile test in Hyderabad could primarily be focussing on one or all of the following tests as per the instructions of the doctor who prescribed the test to a patient.
For a thyroid profile test, approximately 2 ml of blood will be drawn from the patient. The sample would then be put on a centrifuge in a bid to separate the serum from the blood sample. The next step is to subject the serum sample to the diagnostic test method known as Chemiluminescent immunoassay or CLIA.
