  • Overview

Procedure: A blood sample is drawn from a vein, usually in the arm.

Description:

The Anti-Cardiolipin Antibody IgA test measures the presence of IgA antibodies against cardiolipin in the blood. This test is used to evaluate autoimmune disorders, particularly antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which can lead to blood clotting problems, recurrent miscarriages, and other vascular complications. IgA antibodies are less commonly tested than IgG and IgM but can still be significant in certain clinical situations.
