Preparation for the HSV 1-IgG Test:
Fasting Requirements:
- No fasting is required for the HSV 1-IgG test. You can eat and drink normally before the test.
What to Expect During the Test:
- A healthcare professional will draw a small amount of blood from a vein, usually in your arm.
- The procedure typically takes just a few minutes.
- You may feel slight discomfort from the needle, but it should be minimal.
After the Test:
- You can resume your normal activities immediately after the blood draw.
- There are usually no side effects, though some people might experience mild bruising or soreness at the puncture site.
