The Leptospira IgM test detects IgM antibodies against Leptospira bacteria, which cause leptospirosis—a zoonotic infection that can lead to severe illness affecting the liver, kidneys, lungs, and other organs. This test helps diagnose recent or active leptospirosis, particularly in individuals exposed to contaminated water or animals.

Preparation: No special preparation or fasting is required for this test.

Procedure: A blood sample is drawn from a vein, typically in the arm.
