Preparation:
- No Fasting Required: Unlike fasting blood sugar tests, you do not need to fast before a postprandial test. You will typically be asked to eat a standard meal or drink a glucose solution before the test.
Procedure:
- Blood samples are usually taken at specific intervals after eating (e.g., 1 hour 30minutes or 2 hours) to measure how glucose levels change in response to food
- Sample to be given after 2 Hrs. from the start of consumption of lunch.
Description:
The Postprandial Blood Sugar (PLBS) test measures blood glucose levels after eating a meal. It is used to assess how well your body manages blood sugar levels in response to food intake and can help diagnose diabetes or monitor blood glucose control in individuals with diabetes.
