POSTPRANDIAL BLOOD SUGAR(PLBL)
  • Overview

Preparation:

  • No Fasting Required: Unlike fasting blood sugar tests, you do not need to fast before a postprandial test. You will typically be asked to eat a standard meal or drink a glucose solution before the test.

Procedure:

  • Blood samples are usually taken at specific intervals after eating (e.g., 1 hour 30minutes or 2 hours) to measure how glucose levels change in response to food
  • Sample to be given after 2 Hrs. from the start of consumption of lunch.

Description:

The Postprandial Blood Sugar (PLBS) test measures blood glucose levels after eating a meal. It is used to assess how well your body manages blood sugar levels in response to food intake and can help diagnose diabetes or monitor blood glucose control in individuals with diabetes.
