A blood sample is drawn from a vein, usually in the arm.

Description:

The VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) test is a blood test used to screen for syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. It detects non-specific antibodies produced in response to the infection rather than the bacteria itself.
